Free 301 redirect map builder

Paste one old URL and one new URL per line. The tool turns the list into redirect rules for Apache, Nginx, Netlify or a CSV, and warns you about duplicates, loops and chains before you publish.

Free. No sign-up. Runs in your browser: what you type is not sent to us.

Separate the two with a space, comma or tab. Full URLs or paths both work.

Check your platform's documentation for the exact import format. Test a sample of redirects after you publish.

Why a redirect map is the heart of a migration

When URLs change and the old ones stop working, visitors land on error pages and search engines lose the link between the old address and the new one. A redirect map says exactly where each old URL should go, so people and crawlers follow it.

How to build the list

Start from every old URL that has traffic, links or sales: export them from your analytics, your sitemap and Search Console. Map each to the closest equivalent new page, not to the home page. Redirecting everything to the home page is usually treated as a soft error and loses relevance.

Avoid loops and chains

A loop sends a URL back to itself through other rules. A chain sends A to B and B to C; each extra hop adds delay and some crawlers stop following. The tool flags both so you can point A straight to C.

Test after launch

Crawl the old URL list after launch and check that each returns a single 301 to a live page. Keep the redirects in place for a long time; removing them early breaks old links again.

Questions people ask

Should I use 301 or 302?

Use 301 for a permanent move. A 302 says the move is temporary, so search engines may keep the old URL.

Where do I put the generated rules?

On Apache they go in the .htaccess file, on Nginx in the server configuration, on Netlify in a file named _redirects. Shopify and many WordPress plugins import a CSV. Check your platform documentation for the exact import format.

Does this tool store my URLs?

No. It runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
