Free Open Graph tag generator with preview
Fill in the title, description, image and URL for a page. You get the Open Graph and Twitter card meta tags to paste in the head of the page, and a preview of how a shared link may look.
Free. No sign-up. Runs in your browser: what you type is not sent to us.
Paste inside the head of the page. After changing tags, refresh each platform's stored card with its sharing debugger.
What these tags do
When someone pastes your link into a chat or social post, the platform reads a few meta tags to build the card: a title, a short description and an image. Without them the platform guesses, and the result is often a blank or wrong image.
Choose the image carefully
Use a wide image with the important content away from the edges, because platforms crop differently. A size of 1200 by 630 pixels is commonly recommended. The image URL must be a full address that is publicly reachable.
Keep the text honest and short
The share title can differ from the page title but should describe the same page. Keep the description to a sentence or two that makes someone want to open it.
Clear the cache when you change it
Platforms store the card the first time they see a link. After you change tags, use each platform's sharing debugger or inspector to refresh what it has stored.
Questions people ask
Do Open Graph tags affect search rankings?
Not directly. They control how links look when shared, which can affect clicks and shares.
Which tags are required?
Commonly og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url, with og:description recommended. Twitter cards use their own tags and fall back to Open Graph when missing.
Is my information sent anywhere?
No. The tags and the preview are built in your browser.
