Designer Furniture & Lighting Shop
Shopify
UI/UX
Overview
Lookbook-style Shopify storefront for a designer furniture and lighting retailer, built for considered, high-ticket purchases.
Our Solution
We built a lookbook-style Shopify storefront that supports the longer research cycle typical of designer furniture buyers.
Strategy & Implementation
- Replaced category-only navigation with room- and style-based browsing, matching how people shop for furniture
- Built lookbook-style homepage sections so browsing feels like inspiration first, catalog second
- Wrote freight-shipping information directly into the product page instead of a checkout surprise
- Used detailed, spec-heavy product templates suited to a longer research cycle rather than an impulse layout
- Optimized large, high-resolution product photography to stay fast despite the file sizes involved
Key Challenges
- Presenting large, high-ticket pieces without the page feeling cluttered
- Supporting a research-heavy buying cycle instead of designing for an impulse purchase
- Explaining freight shipping clearly enough that it doesn't become a checkout surprise
- Keeping image-heavy, large-format product pages fast on mobile
Results Delivered
- Room- and style-based browsing replaced flat category navigation
- Freight-shipping expectations are now set on the product page, not discovered at checkout
- Photography stays fast-loading despite large, high-resolution furniture and lighting imagery
- Catalog structure is built to expand as new rooms and styles are added
“Designer furniture is a considered purchase, and our old site didn't give customers the confidence to commit. The new store finally supports how people actually shop for these pieces. Website Prism clearly understood the difference between browsing and buying here.”
