Danish Luxury Skincare Store
Shopify
UI/UX
Overview
Editorial, boutique-style Shopify build for a Danish luxury skincare brand formulated beyond standard skin types.
Our Solution
We designed an editorial-leaning Shopify experience that reflects the brand's premium, formula-first positioning.
Strategy & Implementation
- Turned the Lab/Shop/Clinic concept into three homepage acts instead of a single hero banner
- Replaced fixed skin-type categories with concern-based navigation (breakouts, dryness, sensitivity)
- Built product templates with testimonial callouts placed right where price hesitation happens
- Used a restrained, editorial type system instead of typical theme defaults to keep the premium-not-clinical balance
- Kept checkout copy formal enough to match a higher price point without feeling stiff
Key Challenges
- Making a concept as abstract as "Lab, Shop, Clinic" legible in a five-second homepage scan
- Organizing by skin concern instead of type without confusing shoppers used to standard categories
- Justifying a higher-than-typical price point through design alone
Results Delivered
- Homepage now walks visitors through the Lab/Shop/Clinic story instead of stating it in a tagline
- Concern-based navigation replaced the generic skin-type filter
- Testimonial placement moved onto the product page itself, next to price
- Design system is documented and reusable as new formula lines are added
“Our brand is built on nuance, and that's exactly what the team captured in the new site. It finally feels like the boutique experience we envisioned, not a generic Shopify template. They were patient with our feedback rounds and the results speak for themselves.”
